Weekly update
We went to the flower show this weekend with Dave & Kelly. I LOVE the flower show - I could just stay in the front area where they planted the thousands of hyacinths and daffodils and just smell all day! My hyacinths and daffodils that I mentioned last week are completely covered in snow as is our lawn and driveway. Yuck.
I was off work today - yay for Prez day. I set my alarm for a normal work day and spent a wonderful day of cleaning, errands, and chores. It's so nice not to spend a weekend day doing that crap. (I must admit, that although I set my alarm for 8, I reset it til 9 and allowed myself 1 extra hour of sleep) I also had my one year f/u appt for my PRK eye surgery - all is well.
I still don't have my W2's from Guardian! I'd like to get my taxes done and get my money before the government doesn't have enough to pay me.
Laura taught Dylan a new trick. She says "go get me a diaper" and he goes and brings one to her. I said she should try the newspaper next. See, I told her having a baby is like having a dog. When Dylan goes to touch something he shouldn't at my house - I say "leave it" like I tell Blarney.
We had mom's birthday party this weekend, just the fam. We got pizza and I made a few desserts. I was also very happy to find Edy's light Girl Scout cookie ice cream in thin mint and Drumstick flavors. We forgot to get them out of the freezer though!
Aidan is talking up a storm lately. He sings Twinkle Twinkle, the Barney I love you song, and finally said happy birthday to me. Melissa said she practiced in the whole way to Carol's on my actual birthday, and he was saying it in the car - but would not say it to me on my birthday. I'll take a belated happy birthday from the little guy. Aidan also LOVES ice cream. Melissa said she found him in the basement with a spoon sitting by their deep freezer. He actually had the foresight to take a spoon into the basement!! Mike said the problem is he doesn't know to put the ice cream back into the freezer when he's done.
Evan is walking with the assistance of a push toy or if he walks around the couch or coffee table. He's getting so big...so fast! He's almost in 18 month clothing. The kid loves to eat!
I finally got my car back and repaired. This rental car I got while it was in the shop (one day on this time-thank goodness) SMELLED LIKE MUSTARD. Marie came with me to drop the car off and I warned her in the parking lot that it smelled like cheeseburgers, in particular...mustard. She said the last one you got you said it smelled too. She opened the car door and actually coughed. She agreed!
Oh and file this under the category of totally unimportant - after 5 years in the house, I finally found a suitable recipe box and bought it. That's one of the many items on my list that I really don't need and am waiting to find the perfect one of before I buy it.

Weekly update
FIRST - MY DAFFODILS POPPED UP A LITTLE!! Screw that groundhog, my daffodils says spring is coming!!
I know these weekly updates get long, but I don't have that many interesting things happen on a daily basis.
Here's a little Dylan update...he loves to be pushed on his riding toys. Marie got him a Tonka riding truck for his birthday and he just climbs on it and rocks his body back and forth grunting until you push him all around the house. If you don't push him, he will pick up a toy and push that. So cute!
Mark and I went to Max & Erma's last night for an early Valentine's dinner. Since V day is on a Saturday, Marie and I decided to just stay home instead of the four of us going out to dinner. The four of us go out every Saturday and the restaurants will be super busy Sat. Marie's making Ray dinner, I don't know if I will make Mark dinner, but we'll see. Mark also bought me a cookie from my favorite bakery for V day-YUM!
It was so good I asked Marie if we could go there tonight! We also went shopping for Lori's baby gifts.
Mark bought me some PS games for my birthday and him and I have been playing them at night. I love video games!
The insulation guys finally came today and finished up the job. I have a lot of dusting to do, but hopefully our heating bill will go down...way down!
Melissa and I joined BJ's warehouse club this weekend. I love that store. Mike and Melissa had Evan in their cart and I had Aidan. We were shopping during his nap time and he starting falling asleep in the cart. So I cleared out the back of the cart and laid him down back there. People were looking at me kind of strange, but he seemed comfy. Their carts are huge, you can fit two kids in the front seating part.
Marie and I watched the Sex in the City movie--GREAT!!
The huge snow piles in our backyard have finally melted! who hoo

Weekly update
Lots going on last week and just no time to post...
Last Monday I went to The Melting Pot, a fondue restaurant, with a few of my girlfriends. They had mini spa treatments too. It was fun.
TUESDAY WAS Y BIRTHDAY so we had cake at work. When I came home, Mark got me a really nice card, a mini bday cake (which we saved for Wed) and a few PlayStation games. I love playing video games, it was a great present!!! I got two bunches of tulips at work, one from Denise and one from Janet. The good thing about sitting at the front desk is my boss buys flowers for up there whenever she feels the office needs a little "spring" One of the best things about my bday was sharing it with Marie's newborn nephew Eli.
Thursday Marie and I finished our Sex in the City DVDs, she had to stay until midnight, but we got it done. Hopefully we'll watch the movie soon. It's a great show!
Friday night we got together with my rents, Laura & Jeff and D-Man. We tried to go to this little pizza parlor by my work but it was so packed we had to leave. We ended up at Red Robin. Dylan was really good and had a lot of fun playing with the balloon. I had a banana milkshake which was to die for! It was nice since Laura didn't have to work that night.
Saturday my boss had me, Denise, Marie, and Laura (co-worker, not my sister) over for lunch. She made lots of fancy foods and we ate off her nice china. It was a really really nice time. Did I mention that I have found a LOVE of chocolate lately. She made this homemade chocolate/raspberry schnapps dessert sauce and I could have drank the entire container if she'd let me. After lunch, Marie and I ran a few errands which was a lot of fun, I miss doing that with her. Sat night we tried to go to Melt this bar in Lakewood that is famous for their gourmet grilled cheese. It's a teeny tiny place with a small kitchen, so it's always a long wait to get in. We got there around 8 and they said it was a 2 hour wait. We couldn't wait until 10 to eat, so we ended up at Eddie's Creekside. Hopefully we'll make it to Melt soon, it's deeelish! After dinner Marie Ray Mark and I came back here to watch some TV. As we are watching, I see this drip drip. The ice on the roof started dripping through our bay window. It had happened before so Mark put roof heaters up there. I guess the ice was just too deep. So, at around 11 pm, Mark is up on the roof shoveling and Ray is bringing him the 50 lb bag of ice to spread around. Marie and I were toweling off my Precious Moments nativity scene which had Baby Jesus wading in a shallow pool of water. All the pieces were okay though.
Sunday we finally started taking down the tree. I don't like to take it down until my birthday, which I do realize is a month after Christmas. As I type now, all the ornaments are off and boxed up but I didn't have the energy to carry all the boxes up. Mark had to work late tonight, so hopefully it'll be done tomorrow. Ugh...what a chore.
Blarney is doing well and having a great time with the three feet of snow we have in our backyard. He rolls around in it, tunnels in it, and just loves to run through it.
A few months ago, Mark bought a portable USB hard drive so we could backup our pictures and everything. It was a great idea, until IT DIED last weekend. All our pictures LOST AND GONE! Fortunately, I put everything into snapfish and have prints of all of them. But it still sucks. It's under warranty, but they do not do data recovery. Let's hope the new one they ship us lasts longer than a year this time.

I called another dealer and they said they have 6 Edge's waiting on the same part. I'm assuming it'll be a nationwide recall soon. I was happy to get rid of that smelly rental.
