Mark IS Consumer Reports

Whenever I purchase something big - I have to make a spreadsheet for it. Mark doesn't take it that far, but we did promise each other that before we bought something big for the house, we would do a comparison on three items before we bought it. This is just to make sure we are getting a good deal and spending our money properly.

Mark did a good deal of research to find the best TV for us to buy. Well, it paid off. In the December 08 issue of Consumer Reports - our exact model got the CR Best Buy. Our model is #1 in 52 inch, 46 inch, 40 inch, and 32 inch. It got #6 in 37 inch and #4 in 26 inch. The only one that got the Best Buy is the 40 inch. How awesome is that!!

I must brag a little about myself as well, as the camera I bought a few months ago is #14 on the point and shoot cameras.

Blarney sleeping

This is how Blarney sleeps most every night, with his feet up the wall. I never get to snap a pic because Mark goes to bed before me and it's dark when I go to bed. So, he had a really hard day one day and fell fast asleep in the foyer one evening.

Blarney was Yoda for Halloween

Blarney is a spaz so we couldn't get him to sit long enough to get a halfway decent picture, but he was supposed to be Yoda for Halloween. Mark informed me that I put the costume on wrong which is why he was so uncomfortable in it. He wanted to eat it mostly. We got a lot farther this year than we did last year, so maybe next year we will try again.

Aidan and Evan

I love my little nephews!!

Evan is such a chuba chuba. He downs 6 ounces with ease and will easily take 12 if you let him. He loves milk!! He's got his two bottom teeth and loves to smile and show them off!! His laugh is contagious.


Aidan is at such a great age!! He counts to 20 with ease. He also sings the alphabetic in a cute little way. His favorite is LMNOP - he says it louder and super fast! His phase of answering every statement or question directed to him with "NO!" so that's good. He begs Uncle Mark to throw him up into the air and loves it. Mark's mom's house is great for that too since she has 14 foot high ceilings!

Veteran’s Day

Mark saw a guy at the gym yesterday with a tee shirt on that had Russian writing and the hammer and sickle on the back. He went up to him and said (in a polite way) “what’s up with the shirt?” The Russian gentleman in his 20’s replied “it’s a Russian army shirt” Mark replied “Don’t you know today is Veteran’s Day.” He said “I didn’t know” Mark then told him “that shirt is offensive, do you know how many millions were killed?” He replied “I know, but that is all in the past” He said “no, it’s not in the past and that shirt is offensive.” They parted ways. True story.

Now for my comment…I asked Mark if he had just met Obama.

With Obama as our dear leader, we will soon be communist so we will have to get used to seeing the hammer and sickle and less of the stars and stripes. I PRAY THAT IS NOT TRUE and I am just being a drama queen. If my Uncle Doug tells me to have faith, I will have faith!! Thanks Uncle Doug for all you are doing in Afghanistan. The sacrifices you are making for our country humble me.

Our backyard

Mark rented this giant yard digger tool and tore up our backyard for power to his work shop. The second trench is for his gutters. When we had a french drain installed at the bottom of our hill, he had an extra T set up and run to the sewer. He's connecting the gutters to the sewer. The dang shed is so big that it's causing dips around the whole building. I'll be happy to have a retaining wall around the shed so I can plant more flowers! During the trenching process, we had a good stretch of no rain which was so nice. Unfortunately, rain (and yes some snow) came which was no good for Blarney. Muddy paws-yuck!! We are so fortunate to have lots of helpers too. My dad has been over countless number of times to help us and we couldn't have done the project without him. Dave came over twice and Ray put in a hell of a long Saturday with us. Ray renamed himself the mud monster. It's not a pretty job, I'll tell you that. I even got into it and was helping prime and cement conduit together and helping snake wire through it. Who knew I had those skills?

Blarney's got a girlfriend!!

Mark's friend, Dave, came over to help him with the trenches in our backyard and brought their new puppy, Dakota. She's a Great Bernese Mountain Dog and so playful!!

I had a dream the world ended

I have been crazy busy this past month. Too busy to blog. Mark and I have been doing tons of stuff around the house. Huge muddy trenches in our backyard for power to Mark's work shed. Re-doing our garage floor. Work has been so crazy too, late nights, weekends. On to more important stuff. I have been going to bed each day this week around 9 pm. I have a cold. Tuesday, Mark and I said that we would not watch any election coverage. I got home from work, we turned on the DVR and watched Dancing with the Stars. I then went to bed. Cold meds make you dream crazy stuff. Tuesday night I had a dream the world ended. Wednesday I woke up. Obama won. That's all I have to say.
