It's been a while (again)
On St Patty's Day we had dinner at Marie's mom's house. City Chicken - delish!! We watched Glenn Beck's 9-12 project - very good - worth seeing!
Dylan had his first time on a swing, so cute! I had video on my phone, but accidentally deleted it. whoops-bad aunt!
Mark and I are back in the full "yard work" mode. it sucks! I raked up the whole back yard grass and cleaned out all the flower beds. I thought it was so great having flower beds on all 4 sides of the house, until I realized that leaves and junk fill them up in the fall/winter. I filled 11 big black bags of dead grass and leaves. I still have to do the front grass, but that shouldn't be so bad. My hands were like claws all day from holding the rake. Monday was kinda rough at work too.
We went over my parent's house for daddy's 59th birthday. We had pizza and white cake. Mom also bought 4 types of ice cream and had at least 10 different toppings and we made homemade ice cream sandwiches. Everything was great!
Marie & Ray brought over The Wrestler movie. The movie could have been renamed Micky Rourke's ass and Marissa Tomei's boobs. It was a good movie overall but I felt it had a dumb ending.
I made Paula Deen's Mashed Baked this weekend for Mark's mom's house. It was sooo good! It's highly recommended. I'm going to make it for Laura and see how it compares to the beloved cheesey potato casserole.
I had dinner with my friend Crystal too. It had been a while since I had seen her, so we went out. It was nice catching up.
I ended up making caramel corn for Mark's bake sale at work and he said it sold fast. I love that stuff! They are having a pot luck and I'm making Paula's mashed baked for that too.
Marie's making strides in wedding planning - and I'm having a blast helping.

Weekly update
Here's the latest...
Marie and I went to go see Spring Awakening this weekend - thanks Denise!
My daffodils and hyacinths are really popping up now. Can't wait to see their little heads. I have a lot of landscaping to do this year!
I've been taking Blarney for walks again. I'm not as consistent as I should be, but I'm working on it.
Mark's got a bad sinus infection and has had no voice for almost a week now. Peace in the house...not really - he hasn't limited the number of words he says, just the volume. Even though he was sick, he vacuumed the entire house for me on Saturday and cleaned up all Dylan's toys. Don't get me wrong, that is pretty much the only thing he did all Saturday, but I was very grateful! He watched the Sci Fi channel all day - there are some bad movies on there on a Saturday afternoon. Thank goodness I was babysitting Dylan until about 4 pm on Sat so I didn't get to see that many. Poor baby. He was better at not being a baby than I was when I was sick in December. I am a tough person to be around when sick.
Marie & Ray gave up eating in restaurants for Lent so Mark and I have not been going out with them on Saturday nights for dinner. This Saturday I made tacos for all of us. I was in a baking mood too. Mark had a bake sale at work and I made 4 batches of caramel corn. I had made cupcakes last year, but they aren't as portable and easy to package. They were in the tupperware container, but they didn't sell that big. Mark said the caramel corn in sandwich baggies flew off the sale table. Good!
We then watched Fireproof - a very good movie!
Our laptop crashed. If you recall, our USB hard drive back-up died a few weeks back. Fortunately, the damn thing was under warranty and we got a replacement in the mail last week. Mark was able to save the few remaining files we had on our laptop over to the hard drive before re-formatting the laptop.
I love you Ellie.
Dancing with the stars started! Yeah! I didn't watch tonight's since Mark and I have to watch it together as a family. I'm also totally hooked on 24 again.
On Saturday when I was over Laura's I wanted to let her know something so I recorded a memo on her answering machine. well I THOUGHT IT WAS A MEMO, but I ended up changing her OUTGOING MESSAGE! The info I wanted to tell her was that "my husband sewed the hole in Dylan's PJs" I don't know how to sew, but Mark does - so I tease him a lot. It's actually very nice that he sews and I should really learn how. I tried sewing a button on and made it so tight I couldn't get it through the button hole. My mom taught me a trick to put a toothpick underneath the button then I could sew it tight since when I removed the toothpick, it'd be loose.
Marie's mom invited Mark and I over for dinner tomorrow and to watch some Glenn Beck TV special. Mark and M*A love Glenn, and I guess he's okay. (I hope she doesn't read that or she's going to spit in my city chicken for saying that). I love city chicken by the way! She told me how to make it one day and I tried, but it was gross. One day I'll have to go over for a lesson. I have a surprise dessert coming your way too. Oh and sorry about requesting city chicken...I didn't realize it was St Pattys day. I hate corned beef anyway.
I'm trying to plan a spring and/or summer weekend getaway. Can't decide if I want to spend money on a vacation though - especially when there is so much work/cleaning/organizing to do around the house.

Weekly update
I got to meet little Ely (Marie's nephew) this week. He is so very cute!
I went to Amish Country with my parents Saturday. It was such a wonderful day. We were on the road around 9 and went to Tis the Season - Ohio's largest year-round Christmas store. We had a lovely lunch and even got ice cream for dessert. The weather was 68 degrees and gorgeous! Spring was here for a day and I can't wait until it's here to stay.
Work is getting crazy. One of our new girls resigned so we have hired someone else. I just do a little training, but it's such a big job training someone. We've got this big thing going on and next week will be nuts.

Weekly update
Let's see. Not that much going on since my last update.
Laura's sister-in-law had her baby shower Sunday. It was really nice. She got a ton of stuff. The food and cake was delicious.
I have a ton of new pics of Dylan since Laura uploaded her camera to shutterfly. I'll be posting them soon.
My sister-in-law had a birthday and I made (if I might brag) a really good cake with this peanut butter / heavy whipping cream fluffy filling. Heavy whipping cream - yum! I also made ganache which I thought would be really hard but it was super easy. Melissa loves chocolate and peanut butter together, who doesn't, so it was great.
I'm looking forward to a nice warm weekend. I'm going to Amish country with my parents, if it's not too rainy.
