Blarney was Yoda for Halloween
Blarney is a spaz so we couldn't get him to sit long enough to get a halfway decent picture, but he was supposed to be Yoda for Halloween. Mark informed me that I put the costume on wrong which is why he was so uncomfortable in it. He wanted to eat it mostly. We got a lot farther this year than we did last year, so maybe next year we will try again.

I love your blog! Ellie's Jack was a lobster for Halloween. She had been buying him these cute stuffed lobster toys since he was a puppy. He would tear the legs off and play with the legs for months and we would find them all over the house hidden. He loved it when we would find a leg and play fetch with him. When she put the costume on him the first time he looked like it was the revenge of the lobster toys, he looked like he was being eaten alive! Poor thing.
Oh and Doug has shared with me the very hard times that are happening in Afghanistan. They have had a drought for three years and food is getting very scarce. Costs are high and the Taliban destroys any progress we make in building them up again. So there is an organization that is helping the needy over there. They need warm clothes, blankets, hygiene items. There is actually a facility for women that are being protected from abusive husbands and they need help as well as a hospital for children that have been hurt by bombs and an orphanage. Please remember to send things that do not scream America and NOTHING WITH RELIGION also dolls and toys right now are not good because the Soviets put bombs in toys and left them around for the kids to find. They have been taught not to take toys. Their theory was if they maimed the kids then the dads would not fight because they had to take care of their hurt children. It is very important not to send anything that would let anyone think it is American, like logos etc. because the Taliban will kill or maim anyone thought to be taking help from us. The things Doug tells me infuriates me and what makes me even more crazy is our media does nothing but tear down our guys over there never publishes the atrocities the Taliban are doing everyday!
Sorry for the rant.....well here is an address that you can take one of the flat rate boxes (these are great because for one small amount I can make the box as heavy as I want) from the post office and mail items. I have been sending clothes, baby blankets, rice and beans, and hygiene items too

It is an APO which means the postage is only to the east coast and then the military takes it the rest of the way. I know it is a drop in the bucket but as Mother Teresa alway said, "At least it is a drop"
